Barnby Computing Ltd may only have been established in 2008, but my experience of working with computers stems from the mid 1980's. I started work as a Product Designer, a role which encompassed engineering hands-on skills with my creative abilities. You could say I have the ability to design aesthetically, while keeping it 'real' ...what is the point of having a wonderful design if its physical properties defy the intended use?

So, my artistic skills were just as important as my engineering abilities. As my career progressed, politics and paperwork began to take-over. This was not good, my creativity time was being ebbed away, and something had to change.

An opportunity was handed to me, enabling a move into the world of computer software. I was already computer literate, and had been given the chance to support hundreds of users of commercial software at an automotive development centre. I wanted to learn more. I began to train in Computer Engineering and Web Telematics so that I had a good understanding of what was going on behind the computer screen.

This training enabled me to take on even greater responsibilties ...working on large projects such as installing multi-platform software solutions, or having sole responsibilty of ensuring the successful installation of server based software, or the customisation of it's website interface to be accessed by almost 1000 users.

Not one for standing still, I am now offering my services to home computer users as well as office based and industrial users.
